Rumor | The OPPO Reno7 is going global as a member of the Find X5 series
OPPO had stuck with the same basic esthetics of its mid-tier Reno series of smartphones for several generations on end before finally cracking and introducing a new, trendily flat-edged design in the 7 and 7 Pro, the line's current flagships. Now, it looks like these phones will mimic some of their predecessors in one way, which is by re-branding as Find X-series devices for release on the global market.
The vanilla Reno7 is now slated to become the Find X5 Lite in this way, as the 5 became the X3 Lite in 2021 before it. This new rumor has sprung up in accordance with a leak in which the 7 acquires this new alter ego in an alleged screenshot of an official European registration.
Should this be the case, international consumers might expect to see a phone with a 6.43-inch AMOLED display driven by a Snapdragon 778 5G SoC debut alongside the X5 Pro as a cheaper alternative to the upcoming flagship. Many may be glad to see it coming, especially with its new, iPhone-esque chassis; then again, the "X5 Lite" might offer 60W charging, a downgrade on the X3 Lite's 65W top speed.
In addition, the 7 lacks the new Sony IMX709 main camera found in its Pro sibling. On the other hand, there is a chance that phone might also launch outside China as a successor to the X3 Neo, also known as the Reno5 Pro+.
