AYA NEO NEXT: Next-generation Windows gaming handheld to debut on December 28 with high-performance AMD cores
Yesterday, we reported that One-netbook had started selling the ONEXPLAYER mini in Japan, a 7-inch gaming handheld with a Core i7-1195G7 processor. Not to be outdone, AYA has started teasing the AYA NEO NEXT, presumably building on the AYA NEO, AYA NEO 2021 and the AYA NEO 2021 Pro.
So far, the company has published two teasers, along with a holding page on its website. Unsurprisingly, the AYA NEO NEXT is another gaming handheld, but details remain few and far between. Based on these two teasers, it would seem that the AYA NEO NEXT is roughly the same size as the current AYA NEO family. The device's edges appear to be more rounded than existing models, though.
Additionally, AYA describes the NEO NEXT as having 'high performance AMD cores', likely a Ryzen APU from AMD's Ryzen 5000 family. AYA already offers the NEO 2021 Pro with a Ryzen 7 4800U, which actually outperforms the Ryzen 7 5700U in our database.
According to our database, the Ryzen 7 5800U would offer some performance improvements over the Ryzen 7 4800U, although only less than 10%. AYA will unveil the AYA NEO NEXT on December 28.
