AYA NEO 2021 PRO revealed with an AMD Ryzen 7 4800U, a 2 TB SSD and an exorbitant price to match
AYA has not delivered its second batch of Indiegogo orders yet, but it has announced a new Pro version. To recap, the AYA NEO has an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U and a 7-inch display capped at 1,280 x 800 pixels, putting it in competition with the ONEXPLAYER and the Steam Deck.
Accordingly, the AYA NEO 2021 PRO features upgraded hardware, including a Ryzen 7 4800U APU. While still a Renoir processor, the Ryzen 7 4800U has two more Vega GPU cores than the Ryzen 5 4500U, which has six. It remains to be seen how the compact chassis handles this additional GPU power though, along with two more CPU cores and another ten CPU threads.
The AYA NEO 2021 PRO also includes all the revised hardware that AYA announced for the NEO 2021 last month. The company has announced a Retro Power version too that has an NES theme and a docking station. Unsurprisingly, neither model comes cheap, as the prices below show. Existing Indiegogo backers can upgrade their contribution or replace the parts themselves, the costs of which AYA has also outlined.
AYA estimates that it will begin shipping the AYA NEO 2021 PRO in mid-September. By contrast, the company expects to start delivering the NEO 2021 to backers by the end of this month.
