With the insane success of the Nintendo Switch, it's no surprise that manufacturers are looking to offer their own handheld gaming experiences. The GPD Win 3, Alienware UFO, One Netbook OneGx1, and Lenovo LaVie Mini are some notable examples of Windows-based gaming machines running ULV U-series CPUs.
The latest addition to the competition is the upcoming AYA NEO handheld powered by the 3rd gen AMD Ryzen 5 4500U. Unlike its closest competitor the GPD WIN 3, the NEO comes with a larger 7-inch touchscreen with multiple USB-C ports instead of just one. Its overall design is also thinner but slightly heavier as well.
Perhaps its biggest disadvantage is the lack of Thunderbolt 3 support since the 3rd gen mobile Ryzen series doesn't integrate Thunderbolt controllers. Even so, the NEO still supports dedicated docking stations via USB 3.2 Gen. 2 for additional ports and connections.
More information on the AYA NEO can be found on its official product page here. Users can pre-order the handheld via its Indiegogo page for about $700 to $900 USD.
