MSI MAG Trident S: Delayed compact PC upgraded to the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G, no release before 2022
Wccftech has revealed new details about the MAG Trident S, MSI's compact desktop PC unveiled at CES 2021. To recap, the MAG Trident S has a 2-litre case and an AMD Ryzen 7 4700G APU. MSI has not included a discrete GPU though, which may explain why it promotes using cloud-streaming services like NVIDIA GeForce Now, PlayStation Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
According to Wccftech, the MAG Trident S will not arrive this year. However, MSI will showcase it at CES 2022 next month with an upgraded processor. Now, the MAG Trident S has the Ryzen 7 5700G, a Zen 3 APU with eight cores and an RX Vega 8 GPU.
As several hands-on photos show, the MAG Trident S is slightly larger than an Xbox One X. Additionally, the MAG Trident S has plenty of ports, including DisplayPort, HDMI, USB 3.2 Type-C and numerous USB Type-A ports.
It seems that the machine has SO-DIMM RAM too. Presumably, MSI has also equipped the MAG Trident S with replaceable storage. Pricing details remain unknown at this stage, mind you, as does when MSI will begin selling the device.
