The AYA NEO Founders Edition hits Indiegogo for US$699; most backers must pay at least US$789

It has been quite a week for AYA and its NEO handheld games console. Earlier this week, the company announced that it had indefinitely postponed the device's crowdfunding campaign because of its inability to 'secure the preparation of production materials'. However, AYA has since emailed fans to inform them that the device will launch on Indiegogo today.

AYA has not explained the swift turnaround, but clearly it was able to resolve its supply chain issues. Nonetheless, the Indiegogo campaign will commence at 22:00 EST (UTC+05:00), so it will begin on March 6 in many countries. According to a post on Twitter, AYA will sell the NEO Founders Edition for US$699 to Super Early Bird backers, of which there will be 42. Unsurprisingly, AYA expects this 512 GB model to sell out almost instantly.

If you are unable to secure the AYA NEO as a Super Early Bird backer, then it will also be available for US$789, albeit only in black. If you want the white model, or one with a 1 TB SSD, then you must pay US$869. AYA will also sell several accessories for the NEO Founders Edition, which are as follows:
