The AYA NEO Founder arrives with an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U, 16 GB of RAM and a translucent design; global crowdfunding campaign is coming
There are many handheld and Windows 10-based games consoles on the market, but few are as powerful as the AYA NEO. AYA announced the NEO earlier this year and has now begun accepting pre-orders in its home market of China. However, China is where the NEO will remain for the time being. According to Videocardz, domestic demand has prevented AYA from offering the NEO internationally. The company hopes to bring the NEO to Indiegogo eventually, it has announced on Twitter.
Currently, AYA is only offering the NEO as a Founder model, which comes with a translucent shell. All models will come with an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U chipset though, along with 16 GB of LPDRR4X RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. The Ryzen 5 4500U includes a Vega 6 GPU with 6 Compute Units that should offer up to 1.1 TFLOPs of performance. Also on board is a 1,280 x 800 IPS Panel, a 47 Whr battery and Bluetooth 5.0/Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.
In August, The Phawx demonstrated that the AYA NEO is capable of averaging 32 FPS in Horizon Zero Dawn at 1,280 x 800 pixels. The Phawx did test a pre-production unit, so retail units may perform slightly better with optimised drivers. Nonetheless, the AYA NEO should be suited to less demanding triple-A titles, albeit probably not at 1080p.
The AYA NEO Founder is available to pre-order for CNY 3,999 (~US$603) with 512 GB of storage. Alternatively, there is a 1 TB version for CNY 4,599 (~US$694).
