Chuwi CoreBook X 2022: 14-inch laptop announced with an ageing Intel Comet Lake processor for €499
Chuwi has refreshed the CoreBook X series again, this time with a 2022 model. The company released an upgraded CoreBook X Pro in November, although it did not switch out the ageing Core i5-8259U. Instead, Chuwi refreshed the CoreBook X Pro with a higher refresh rate display, upgrading it from 120 Hz to 144 Hz. Now, the company has announced a new CoreBook X, a smaller alternative to the CoreBook X Pro.
Sadly, Chuwi has equipped the CoreBook X 2022 with a slower processor than the Core i5-8259U. Specifically, the 14-inch laptop relies on the Core i3-10110U, along with 8 GB of DDR4-2666 RAM and a 512 GB SSD. According to our database, the Core i3-10110U only manages 86% of the performance that the Core i5-8259U offers.
Worse still, the Core i5-8259U takes a commanding lead over the Core i3-10110U in GPU benchmarks, thanks to its Iris Plus Graphics 655. In comparison, the Core i3-10110U utilises the old UHD Graphics 620.
The CoreBook X 2022 will launch with a 46.2 Wh battery, an Intel AX201 modem and a microSD card reader, and USB Type-A and Type-C ports. Reportedly, the 1.36 kg device will launch in one memory configuration and with a 2,160 x 1,440-pixel (3:2) panel that covers 100% of the sRGB colour space. The CoreBook X 2022 should be available later this month from €499.
