ASUS has revealed its latest single-board computer (SBC), a fanless machine that utilises an Intel Jasper Lake processor. Specifically, the N5105I-IM-A has a Celeron N5105, a 10 W and quad-core chip that can boost to 2.9 GHz when required. The SBC also relies on the integrated Intel UHD Graphics, rather than a dedicated GPU.
ASUS complements the Jasper Lake processor with SO-DIMM RAM and dual M.2 slots. Additionally, the fanless machine has numerous ports, including RS232, VGA, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI and USB 3.0 Type-A. Incidentally, you can expand the N5105I-IM-A with an RFID reader for processing card payments.
Unfortunately, ASUS has not announced how much the N5105I-IM-A costs, nor from when it will be available. The company is yet to publish a full specification sheet for the device either, so it may be a while before the N5105I-IM-A launches. Nonetheless, it could be a good option for IoT, industrial and retail applications when it does arrive.
