PineNote: PINE64 reveals a 10.1-inch e-ink tablet for US$399 with a stylus and case
PINE64 has announced the PineNote as part of its August update. The tablet has a 10.1-inch e-ink display that operates at 1,872 x 1,404 pixels and in 16 shades of grey. Additionally, the tablet supports backlighting and an adjustable colour temperature for use at night.
Moreover, the tablet has a capacitive touchscreen and supports Wacom EMR-compatible pens. The device also has 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 128 GB of eMMC flash storage and a Rockchip RK3566 SoC. There is a USB Type-C port and a Wi-Fi 5-capable modem, too. Essentially, the PineNote is the Quartz64 with an e-ink display attached. The Quartz64 is another of PINE64's devices, for reference.
PINE64 states that the PineNote runs Linux which it has adapted for tablets. The company adds that the software is intended for developers, and that the device should be available to order later this year. The PineNote will ship with a stylus, a case, and is expected to cost US$399 before shipping.
