The first official benchmark results are in for the Snapdragon 888, and they show a healthy uplift from the performance of the Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 865+. The results are informative, but there are too many variables at play to compare the Snapdragon 888 against one of its main rivals, the Apple A14 Bionic.

Samsung has finally announced the arrival of the Exynos 2100, and it is just two days before the expected launch of the Galaxy S21 series. The Exynos 2100 is believed to feature eight cores built on a 5 nm process, with an ARM Cortex-X1 core the most powerful of the eight. The Exynos 2100 will go head-to-head with the Snapdragon 888 when the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra arrive next month.

The LG Velvet becomes the company's first device to receive Android 11 as part of the LG OS Preview Program

The LG Velvet has started to receive Android 11, albeit only in South Korea. The LG OS Preview Program is open to multiple variants of the device, and marks the beginning of the path to Android 11 for LG handsets.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is one of the next devices to receive Android 11

The Redmi Note 8 Pro will be one of Xiaomi's next devices to receive Android 11. The same applies to the Redmi Note 8 as Xiaomi looks to bring Android 11 to more handsets on the beta branch of MIUI in China. The Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro are two of four Redmi handsets to be called up to Android 11 within the next few weeks.
