Earlier today, popular leakster Ice universe re-shared on Twitter an image that was originally posted on Chinese social network Weibo. The image shows molds of cases for the upcoming iPhone 13 lineup and, although such leaks cannot reveal anything about the detailed technical changes one should expect, they usually uncover the changes regarding the size of the handset and camera module, as well as the placement of ports and buttons.
In this case, we are talking about a larger camera module for the Pro and Pro Max iPhone 13, as well as diagonal camera sensors for the regular and mini handsets. The main reason for the increase of the camera module is the (still alleged) sensor-shift stabilization on all models, as well as ultrawide sensors on the Pro Apple handsets from the next generation.
While this is not the first time we hear of these camera changes, the leaked image can be considered another unofficial confirmation of the changes that are expected to come with the iPhone 13 lineup. Previous rumors also mentioned a smaller notch for the entire lineup, as well as a larger battery and a 120 Hz display for the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
