Xiaomi continues to send out both the Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 update to its lineup. While most of the focus has been on the MIUI 12.5, the company has yet to roll out Android 11 to some of its older mid-range devices, including the Redmi Note 8. Until now, at least. Rejoice, Redmi Note 8 owners, Android 11 is finally here for you.
The Android 11 update is now arriving for the Redmi Note 8. It's still at the early stages of rollout but will get to the full, public rollout stage over the next couple of weeks. The update bears the build designation "V12.0.2.0.RCOEUXM", denoting that it's an early Android 11-based MIUI 12 build, and is one for the European model of the Redmi Note 8. The update weighs in at 2.2 GB, no surprise considering it's an entire OS upgrade.
This update, as mentioned, is a MIUI 12 build. Owners of the Redmi Note 8 will have to wait a while longer for MIUI 12.5. In any case, the Android 11 rollout looks to be a lot better than the circus that was the Android 10 rollout last year.
