New updates arrive for the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 9
Xiaomi is currently sending out the November security patch to its devices. Yesterday, we reported that the update was rolling out to the European and Russian models of the Redmi Note 8 Pro. A similar update is now also landing on the Redmi Note 9.
The update for the Redmi Note 9 bears the software designation "MIUI V12.0.5.0.QJOEUXM", showing that it's a MIUI 12 build for the European variant of the Redmi Note 9—Redmi 10X 4G in China. The changelog lists improved system stability and reduced system lag. The usual for MIUI monthly patches.
The Redmi Note 8 may have had a torrid time with updates, but it's also getting the November patch, albeit in stable beta form. The update bears the build number "V12.0.2.0.QCOEUXM". That, of course, shows that it's a rather early MIUI 12, and one for the European model of the device. The Redmi Note 8, like its sibling, the Redmi Note 8 Pro, is expected to receive Android 11. Considering how long it took Xiaomi to finally deliver Android 10, however, we wouldn't bet on that happening anytime soon.
