While some Redmi Note 8 owners only just received the Android 10 and MIUI 12 update, Xiaomi has already set its sights towards the Android 11 rollout for the phone. In fact, the company is now sending out the very first Android 11 build for the Redmi Note 8.
As one would expect, this is a closed beta build. Ergo, it's only available for owners of the Redmi Note 8 who opted into the closed beta program. It's also important to point out that this is only for the Chinese model of the device. That goes without saying, as Xiaomi always starts its update rollouts in its home country.
The update in question weighs a hefty 2.6 GB. That's down to it being both the Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 updates in one package, just like the MIUI 12 update also brought Android 10. It's unknown when the MIUI 12.5 and Android 11 updates will arrive for non-Chinese Redmi Note 8 models. Perhaps, around March? Hard to tell.
