Just over a week ago a new MIUI 12 software update for variants of the Redmi Note 8 Pro with the Europe ROM started rolling out. However, it now appears that the update, V12.0.3.0.QGGEUXM, is causing serious issues for some Redmi Note 8 Pro owners that can only be fixed by a factory reset. Therefore, it might be best for users of this particular smartphone to hold off installing any updates for the time being.
Redmi Note 8 Pro users have reported a couple of major problems that seem to have been caused by this particular MIUI 12 update. Some have uploaded video clips that clearly show their Redmi Note 8 Pro stuck in Recovery Mode whereas others have shown how their smartphone has succumbed to a boot loop issue. A Mi Community mod has stated “This issue isn’t being faced by all users”, but it’s still a serious problem that Xiaomi needs to fix.
As can be seen in the clip below, an affected Redmi Note 8 Pro is trapped in a boot loop. A different user has pointed out that nothing seems to fix the problem in regard to utilizing apps such as Mi Tools or Mi PC Suite, leaving a reset as the only option to restore the handset to normal use – an option that would cause the loss of data for those struggling with the update issue. For the moment, Redmi Note 8 Pro users should avoid downloading and installing the V12.0.3.0.QGGEUXM update.
