Xiaomi unveiled the newest version of its Android software yesterday alongside the Mi 11. Branded as MIUI 12.5, the improved skin succeeds MIUI 12 and will be sent out slowly over the coming weeks, with Xiaomi giving a rough idea as to what phones will get the update and when.
According to information published online, the MIUI 12.5 update will roll out in two stages. The first stage began yesterday with the launch and will see the OTA delivered to the following devices:
- Xiaomi Mi 10
- Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro
- Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra
- Xiaomi Mi 9 SE
- Xiaomi Mi 9
- Redmi K20 Pro
- Xiaomi Mi CC9e
- Redmi Note 7
- Redmi Note 7 Pro
- Redmi K30 Pro
- Redmi K30 5G
- Xiaomi 10 Youth Edition
- Redmi K30
- Xiaomi CC9 Pro
- Redmi K20
- Redmi K30S Extreme Edition
- Redmi K30 Extreme Edition
- Redmi 10X
- Redmi 10X Pro
- Redmi Note 9
- Redmi K30i 5G
The second stage of the rollout will see MIUI 12.5 delivered to the:
- Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5
- Xiaomi CC9
- Xiaomi CC9 Meitu
- Redmi Note 9 Pro
- Redmi Note 8 Pro
- Redmi Note 8
- Redmi Note 9 4G
Phones in the second batch will receive the MIUI 12.5 update alongside Android 11. The rollout is expected to begin at the end of January 2021.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi has also temporarily suspended MIUI 12.5 development for the Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10, Redmi K30 Pro, Mi 10 Ultra, Redmi K30S Ultra. Work resumes tomorrow, however. Note that everything listed here is only regarding the public beta release.
