Although the original Redmi Note 8 was released by Xiaomi in the second half of 2019, it seems the Chinese OEM is not finished with expanding the series just yet. The Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8T were also released in 2019 and now there appears to be a new member incoming that is currently being called the Redmi Note 8 (2021). However, the following information should still be taken with a pinch of salt for now.
Some specs have already been linked to the purported 2021 Redmi Note 8, including the aforementioned 8-core Helio G85 chip that comes with an ARM Mali-G52 MP2 GPU. Apparently this year’s edition of the Redmi Note 8 will run MIUI 12.5 out of the box and come in 4 GB + 64 GB and 4 GB + 128 GB RAM/storage configurations. Buyers can also expect to find a 4,000-mAh battery with 22.5 W fast-charging ability.
In addition, the Redmi Note 8 (2021), which has the model number M1908C3JGG and codename “biloba”, is believed to be coming with a waterdrop display (120 Hz refresh rate suggested), and a main quad-camera arrangement headed by a 48 MP sensor. The smartphone, which has also been labeled “Redmi Note 8 Reloaded” for the time being, may only be made available for the Global, EU, and Russia markets.
