First MIUI 13 build incoming but looks like the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will be running on MIUI 12.5 out of the box
Some interesting detective work by Xiaomiui has revealed that MIUI 13 might be ready for its first phase of beta testing. According to images provided by the channel, MIUI version 21.7.5, which could be the last build of MIUI 12.5, is expected to be rolled out on July 6. A following build with the version number 21.7.6 is believed to be scheduled for July 7 and Xiaomiui suspects that because the build number goes from 12 to 0 this indicates the beginning of MIUI 13’s roll out.
Obviously this would be a beta variant of the MIUI 13 ROM and therefore only available on select Xiaomi smartphones in China. However, the same source reckons there will be a MIUI 13 announcement taking place on July 16, with this information apparently being taken from the MIUI File Manager app. It’s possible Xiaomi might offer a MIUI 13 update rollout schedule at that time.
It had also been believed that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 smartphone would come out of the box running on MIUI 13, and the above source does state that the device and the latest Android overlay will be “introduced together”. However, it has now been reported that the Mi Mix 4 will sport MIUI 12.5 upon release, which makes more sense as it is likely there will be plenty of MIUI 13 bugs to iron out before the latest firmware can be considered stable.
