It's been a while since we've seen a Mi Mix smartphone in action. Under normal circumstances, we would have seen the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 sometime in 2020. Nonetheless, we can be sure that Xiaomi will launch it this year, as the rumour mill has already shed some light on some of the smartphone's specifications. Now, some new information has emerged about its battery.
MyDrivers reports that the Mi Mix 4 will pack a 5,000mAh cell that supports 120W fast charging over a cable. We've seen it multiple times on other Xiaomi flagships, so it isn't exactly a new feature. However, one can charge the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 wirelessly at 80W. This is remarkably faster than wired charging speeds offered by Xiaomi's competitors like Oppo and Vivo. One will have to use proprietary hardware to get those speeds. Xiaomi's 80W wireless charger has been out and about for quite some time, so users shouldn't have a hard time finding one.
Previous reports told us that the Mi Mix 4 could showcase Xiaomi's 200W charging technology. We may have to wait a bit longer before seeing the tech in action, mainly because it deteriorates the battery's health a bit too quickly. Based on what we know about the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 so far, it will continue the legacy of its predecessors by demonstrating industry-first features that set a precedent for every smartphone launched afterwards.
