Leaked Mi Mix 4 video unveils incredible under-display camera on flexible panel as Xiaomi announces official release date
It was already predicted that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 would be launched on August 10, and now the Chinese OEM itself has officially announced that is the correct release date. While there are still many secrets shrouding the Mi Mix 4, which is expected to show off a host of innovative features, it has long been believed that the smartphone would come with an under-display camera (UDC).
A video clip of the Mi Mix 4 has been shared by Digital Chat Station on Weibo – although it’s not the smartphone in its entirety. It’s actually just the device’s panel that appears here, with the flexible screen being bent and twisted to show how it retains display content integrity. However, there is a little surprise nearer to the end, as when the screen is darkened and then turned off a punch-hole for the selfie camera becomes visible.
It’s actually worth watching the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 video clip (see below) a few times as it is the flexibility of the upcoming smartphone’s panel that initially grabs the viewer’s attention. In reality it is the UDC that is the star of the show here, as the flexible panel will be later encased in a likely curved ceramic body. At first there is no sign of a camera on the Mi Mix 4’s home screen or during a gaming session, and the UDC is only revealed when the display gets darker.
