Xiaomi teases keyboard support, packaging and a new audio system for Mi Pad 5 series as marketing render and an official case leaks

Xiaomi has revealed more details about the Mi Pad 5 series, its upcoming premium Android tablets. Previously, the company announced that its tablets would work with styluses, while teasing that they would have flat displays and metal chassis.

More teasers have since teased keyboard support, which an FCC listing already confirmed. Additionally, another has teased that there will be at least two models, as the images below show. Nonetheless, Xiaomi is expected to release three models globally, all based on Snapdragon 800 series SoCs.

The Mi Pad 5 series will also feature some sort of special audio system, although a separate leak suggests that this is only Dolby Vision Atmos certification. Incidentally, two leaks have offered a look at an alleged marketing render and an official slip cover. Based on the images, it seems likely that Xiaomi will unveil colour-matching accessories, or colour-matching cases at the very least.

Xiaomi will announce the Mi Pad 5 series tomorrow in China. The company has not confirmed if it plans to announce the tablets globally. However, the same FCC listing all but confirms that this will be the case.
