Xiaomi has mostly sent out the Android 11 update to its lineup, and is now focusing on MIUI 12.5. Android 12 is around the corner, though, and the company already has that in its sights and is set to begin the rollout soon—according to a new report.
Going by new information, Xiaomi is set to start sending out the Android 12 update very shortly. According to the source, Xiaomi will kick things off with updates to the Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro, Mi 11 Ultra, and the Redmi K40 Pro Plus. Its Snapdragon 888-powered premium phones, essentially. Its other models will have to wait a while longer.
Seeing as the Mi 11 Pro and Redmi K40 Pro Plus are China-exclusive, this update rollout is going to start in China, as is typical of Xiaomi. We expect early stable Android 12 builds to start off with the Chinese Closed Beta Program, before moving on to Pilot testers, then to the beta stable stage, before a public rollout. It will be months before public builds are available—if previous rollouts are anything to go by.
