The Vissles LP85 is essentially an Apple Magic keyboard that you can take anywhere you go for $99 USD
USB keyboards come in all shapes and sizes with membrane-based or mechanical switches. Hong Kong-based manufacturer Vissles is looking to shake things up with a super-compact keyboard weighing just 545 g based on optical switches.
Called the Vissles LP85, the 75 percent keyboard is only 7.9 mm thick at its thinnest point to be one of the thinnest USB keyboards you can find. In order to preserve the feel and feedback of traditional keys, the optical switches of the LP85 will offer an actuation force of 50G with 0.2 ms response time, 1.2 mm pre-travel, and 2.5 mm total travel. The aluminum keyboard deck should also have excellent rigidity relative to its weight.
Though rare, optical switches have appeared on a small handful of laptops thus far including on the 2019 Razer Blade 15. Vissles is expecting to launch the LP85 by this October 12 for a price of just under $100 USD which is when we expect to receive more information on the model.
