Xiaomi has also debuted new charging accessories alongside the new additions to the Mi 11 series today (March 29, 2021), the most eye-catching of which is the latest addition to its line of Mi Wireless Charging Stands.
This device is based on the OEM's latest 80W standard for this form of charging, and comes in a new and striking geometric form-factor. Like some other comparable new products, it also supports charging with a device in either portrait or landscape mode.
Xiaomi has priced it at 499 yuan (~US$76), for which the buyer also gets a 120W power brick with which to deliver its new charging speed. Then again, this combination is also rated to support more standard, if much slower, systems such as Qi wireless charging, so that other devices can also benefit from it, even iPhones.
On that note, Xiaomi predicts that the new Mi 80W Wireless Charging Stand will not stay in stock soon. Therefore, it has also prepared a second new accessory for sale. Much like Apple's ill-fated AirPower concept, this new mat integrates a relatively high number of coils (19 in total), arranged in a manner that allows a device to start charging regardless of where it lands.
Xiaomi claims that up to 3 different products can draw power from this new Mi Wireless Charging mat at any one time. It is rated to charge compatible first-party products at up to 60W, or up to 20W for any other phone or peripheral. It is priced at 599 yuan (~US$91), although Xiaomi never mentioned a release for it during its presentation.
