Xiaomi has already incorporated 30W wireless charging into its new Mi 10 Pro flagship. It may address some current issues with this method, which include prolonged intervals in which a phone needs to stay on a compatible pad or stand. Now, however, the same OEM claims to have outdone itself with a next-gen standard, which can charge a phone at 40W.
This new technology was hinted at back when Xiaomi unveiled the current 30W method for flagship phones, known as Mi Charge Turbo 30. There is also a video showing this version charging a mobile device on a wireless charging stand to 100% in just 40 minutes. This phone - an alleged custom Mi 10 Pro - apparently has a 4000mAh battery.
It does fit in nicely with Xiaomi's claims that Mi Charge Turbo 30 takes about 50 minutes to fill the same capacity. However, the OEM's new teasers did not mention if reverse wireless charging is also improved with the additional wattage. We may see the latest form of wireless charging in this company's 2021 flagships, or perhaps even in the rumored Mi Mix 2020.
