Rumour | Xiaomi to release Redmi K30 Pro and Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition amid possible hands-on sighting of deep blue colourway
Rumours about the Redmi K30 Pro have been circulating for a while now, with leakers like @Sudhanshu1414 claiming since last year that Xiaomi was readying a Snapdragon 865-powered version of the Redmi K30. With the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro launch out of the way and the Black Shark 3 launching tomorrow, the release of the Redmi K30 Pro cannot be that far away.
There has been speculation that Xiaomi will release two versions of the Redmi K30 Pro too, which XDA Developers has reinforced. According to XDA Senior Member kacskrz, the latest MIUI 11 China Developer build contains references to not only the Redmi K30 Pro but also the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition. While nothing else is known about the "Zoom Edition", presumably Xiaomi will include a dedicated telephoto camera. It would not surprise us if Xiaomi re-used the 8 MP f/2.0 telephoto sensor from the Mi 10 Pro. The existence of a "Zoom Edition" could mean that the Redmi K30 Pro only has a nominal macro camera though, like the Mi 10.
Separately, a supposed image of the Redmi K30 Pro has appeared online. Seemingly originally posted on Weibo, the photo shows what looks to be a Redmi K30 with a deep-blue finish. While the device has a glass back like the regular Redmi K30, its camera housing differs from the regular model somewhat. The image has been posted on /LEAKS too where it has a 50% trust score. Hence, we would treat this one with caution, despite being uploaded by a contributor with an accuracy rating of 86% from over 200 leaks.
There is no word yet on when Xiaomi will release the Redmi K30 Pro. However, we cannot imagine that it is more than a month or so away from being unveiled.
