Xiaomi has shown just how not to handle an OS upgrade. Firstly, the company rolled out a buggy build to the Mi A3, and a delayed buggy build at that. Then, it pulled said build from distribution without an official confirmation that it had done so. According to Piunikaweb, Xiaomi Customer Support has been emailing some people to inform them of the paused rollout, but seemingly only those that had contacted the support service.
While there is a workaround for one of the issues affecting Mi A3 handsets that have been upgraded to Android 10, other issues remain unaddressed. Xiaomi has not formally announced when it will release a new build, either.
However, now a Xiaomi Developer has been screenshotted as writing that the company is working to roll out a new update "as soon as possible". While this is not much to go on at this stage, it is encouraging to have confirmation that Xiaomi is actively working on a new build. Additionally, it is the first time we have seen Xiaomi, or a representative from the company, apologising for the botched update.
Regardless, we doubt that this will appease people who have already upgraded their Mi A3 to Android 10. We shall keep you updated with any new information when we hear of it.
