Owners of the Mi A3 have been waiting for the release of an Android 10 build that fixes the bugs Xiaomi's OTA last month calamitously introduced. A new update has now been released for the phone, but it appears to be rather disappointing.

Last month, Xiaomi finally released Android 10 for the Mi A3. While it wasn't quite as disastrous as the Mi A2 Lite's Android 10 update that came after, it was still rather buggy and brought bugs to the fingerprint reader, camera app, and phone dialer amidst others—and had to be pulled. Xiaomi, today, is now sending out a new update to the Mi A3.

Mi A3 owners may have been expecting a new Android 10 build with all the bugs fixed but the update Xiaomi has sent out is, well, a tad underwhelming. For one, it weighs a paltry 32 MB. File sizes are usually a good indication of the content of an OTA, and the new update's size tells a good story of its contents.

The update appears to just be the March security update, arrives with the software version number V.11.0.8.0.QFMMIXM, and takes the phone to the March 5 security patch level. Going by comments on the Mi forums, it doesn't appear to fix any of the bugs the original Android 10 update introduced either.

We'll be sure to keep you updated on this.
