The Redmi Weibo account has revealed yet more information about the K30 Pro, this time publishing countless details concerning the upcoming device's camera hardware. The company has effectively confirmed that the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition will simply be called the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom, too.
According to the information posted in the last day or so, the Redmi K30 Pro series will feature the IMX686 as its main rear-facing camera. The 64 MP sensor debuted in the Redmi K30 earlier this year, as we covered in our review of the 5G version of the device. The camera will be capable of shooting in up to 8K too and will feature a 7P lens.
Redmi has also confirmed that the K30 Pro series will include a telephoto sensor capable of 3x optical zoom. Both it and the IMX686 will be optically stabilised. The company is yet to confirm the details of the other two camera sensor, but we would not be surprised if ultra-wide and macro sensors made appearances too.
Initial camera samples from the IMX686 and the telephoto lens look sharp, with both capturing plenty of detail in good lighting. The K30 Pro series will also support up to 30x digital zoom, but the results look just as grainy as those created by competing smartphones.
Redmi is still remaining unclear on the differences between the K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom, though. Both will seemingly feature optically stabilised telephoto sensors capable of 3x lossless zoom, so it will be interesting to see what else the Zoom offers over the regular K30 Pro.
