Android 10 is now available for the Mi A2 Lite, but you probably should wait
Xiaomi released Android 10 for the Mi A3 just over a week ago. Sadly, the build was riddled with bugs and had to be pulled. The company has now begun sending out the update to its other Android One phone, the Mi A2 Lite, but there's a caveat.
Going by an official statement on the MIUI forums, the update is being sent out to only a select number of Mi A2 Lite users. Ergo, it's not a wide rollout. Xiaomi is likely choosing to go this route in a bid to avoid the shambles that was the Mi A3's Android 10 rollout. Early adopters are more akin to beta testers in this case.
The update comes with the build number "V126.96.36.199.QDLMIXM". We're yet to see any screenshots of the installation page but that's likely due to how limited the rollout is. When this update starts getting out, we expect Xiaomi to proceed with a wider rollout if there are few to no bug complaints.
Those who absolutely have to be on Android 10 on their Mi A2 Lite can do so by downloading the file manually here and installing it. It's a petite 1.06 GB file. We wouldn't advice anyone to, though. Xiaomi has a penchant for releasing buggy Android One OS upgrades after all, and rollbacks are rarely optimal.
