Android 11 arrives for the Redmi Note 9 in Europe as Xiaomi expands MIUI 12.5 rollout for the Mi 10T Pro
Xiaomi finally started sending out the Android 11 update to the Redmi Note 9 globally a while ago. The company is currently bringing a similar update to Europe, with a few owners of the European model of the device now set to get the OTA.
To be specific, this is a Mi Pilot build. This means it will only be sent out to members of the Mi Pilot beta-testing program. We expect the update to make its way to the public rollout stage shortly. The OTA bears the build designation "MIUI 12.0.1.0 RJOEUXM", showing that it's the first Android 11 build for the phone. It's based on MIUI 12, though, not MIUI 12.5 as some would expect. The update delivers the May security patch alongside the OS upgrade.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi is further expanding its MIUI 12.5 rollout for the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro. The company sent out the update to the Chinese and European models of the devices a while ago, and is now bring the OTA over to the Indian models. The update bears the software version number "MIUI 12.5.1.0 RJDINXM" and similarly brings the May security patch. It's not a massive download either, weighing in at 955 MB.
