Technical
Escape from Tarkov comes from the Russian developer Battlestate Games, which distributes the title on its own platform, the Battlestate Games Launcher. The game can be downloaded and started through it. With a size of around 17 GB (about 10 GB of download), Escape from Tarkov is surprisingly small. Other shooters take up well over 50 GB.
Unfortunately, the platform and the technology still seem a bit immature. During the test process, we not only had to fight with some connection problems or crashes but were also confronted with various other (partly very cryptic) error messages.
Provided the game has been accessed, tuning fans will be welcomed by a very tidy graphics menu. While you can adjust the resolution, screen mode, aspect ratio and vertical synchronization in the upper area, 17 detail settings can be found in the lower area; these can be adjusted in one go via the overall graphics quality setting (whereby not every setting is set to the limit, even on ultra). With the exception of the texture quality, all changes are applied without restarting.
Depending on the level, we would describe the graphics quality offered as ranging from decent to good. Escape from Tarkov can easily compete visually with other genre representatives such as Arma and PUBG. Thanks to the dynamic day and night times as well as the weather changes, the title creates a harmonious atmosphere even aside from the pure graphics.
Benchmarks
For our benchmarks, we use the optional offline mode, which doesn't require human opponents and, if desired, no SCAVs (= NPCs) either. The speed measurements take place during the day at the Customs location, which is recommended for beginners, and it houses not only woodland but also several roads and buildings. Since the spawn point is variable, the sequences can't be reproduced 1:1, which is why we simply "walk through the area" for about 30 seconds and record the frame rate using Fraps.
In order to get more than 60 frames per second, you have to raise the game FPS limit in the graphics menu. The maximum value is 120. Note: Escape from Tarkov is currently in beta. In the final version (if it appears one day), performance may naturally differ.
Results
FHD (1920x1080)
As indicated in the introductory text, the system requirements are quite moderate. To run the title at 1920x1080 pixels and on the medium preset, a mid-range GPU (older) at the level of the GeForce GTX 1050 is enough. For the high preset, it should be a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or better, but the ultra preset needs at least a GeForce GTX 1650.

QHD (2560x1440)
A high-end GPU is only required at higher resolutions than Full HD. For a mix of 2560x1440 pixels and the ultra preset, you'll need a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti or better.

UHD (3840x2160)
Escape from Tarkov only becomes properly processor-intensive in the 4K range. If you want full details and 3840x2160 pixels, only Nvidia's top-of-the-line model, the GeForce RTX 2080, is currently able to provide enough power when it comes to laptops.

Note
Since gaming tests are very time intensive and often hindered by installation or activation limits, we can only provide a portion of the benchmarks at the time of publishing. Further graphics cards will be added in the coming days and weeks.
