The Huawei MateBook 14 2021 features many internal upgrades from last year's model, including a switch to Intel's Tiger Lake platform. The MateBook 14 is available with up to a Core i7-1165G7 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce MX450 GPU and 16 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM. Huawei only offers the MateBook 14 2021 with a 512 GB SSD though, and in two somewhat understated colours.

Huawei has updated the MateBook 13 to Intel's Tiger Lake platform. The MateBook 13 comes with a Core i5-1135G7 or Core i7-1165G7 processor, along with an NVIDIA GeForce MX450 GPU and a 13-inch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio. The MateBook 13 2021 starts at CNY 5,449 (~US$848), but little else has changed from its predecessor.

Huawei has updated flagship laptop, the MateBook X Pro. The company has upgraded the MateBook X Pro to Intel's Tiger Lake platform, which it will offer with 16 GB of RAM and up to a 1 TB SSD. The 1.33 kg machine also features a 13.9-inch 3K display and starts at CNY 8,999 (~US$1,389).

According to Roland Quandt, the next Snapdragon chipset for Windows 10 on ARM machines has been spotted. Apparently, the Snapdragon SC8280 has a larger die size than the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 and support for up to 32 GB of RAM. The Snapdragon SC8280 has been tested with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X55 modem too, meaning that it should support 5G connectivity.

A recent video from WindowsCentral's YouTube channel purports to demo the Windows 10X interface. The latest word on this version of the OS is that it will first arrive on devices that are single-screen, touchscreen-oriented or both. Its new leak seems to bear that impression out in detail.

Cyberport has revealed the price of what will probably be the flagship SKU of the new ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15, and it is expensive. At €2,799, the ROG Zephyrus G15 features an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS APU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q GPU a 165 Hz display with a native 1440p resolution. There is only one SO-DIMM slot though, with ASUS soldering 8 GB of RAM to the motherboard.

After we recently took a look at the MagicBook 14 with AMD's Ryzen 5 4500U, it's now the MagicBook 15's turn. It reveals small and big improvements but also known weaknesses.

The NUC V6-i5 offers an Intel Core i5-7200U processor, M.2 storage, DDR4 SO DIMM RAM, and a built-in LCD screen. The machine measures 118 x 118 x 78 mm and features plenty of I/O, including two video outputs and four USB ports.

The ThinkBook 14s Yoga doesn't attract attention by setting performance records but rather with its good ergonomics. The Lenovo engineers have focused on low emissions, good stamina and a decent keyboard. The touchscreen display can be used both with your fingers and with the included Smart Pen.

In the past, bright displays and ThinkPads did not come hand in hand. Now, finally, another model cracks the 600-nit mark. The panel in the P15s, which is the brightest in the ThinkPad series, is also used in other workstation-grade ThinkPads.

Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be announcing a new RedmiBook Pro laptop with Intel's latest Tiger Lake-H35 processors. However, multiple Geekbench listings assert that AMD versions are on the way, with up to the Ryzen 7 5800H set to power the RedmiBook Pro 15S. Meanwhile, Xiaomi will offer up to the Core i7-11370H with the RedmiBook Pro 15.

ASUS has announced a significant upgrade to the ROG Zephyrus G14, one of 2020's most popular gaming laptops. The new model features AMD Ryzen 5000 APUs, up to a 144 Hz and 1440p display, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Max-P GPU. The ROG Zephyrus G14 still weighs just 1.6 kg, though.

The new Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R10 desktop PC brings Ryzen 5000 series CPUs to Alienware's desktop family. The machine can be configured with a number of AMD Ryzen 5000 CPUs as well as the newest GPUs from Nvidia and AMD.

Lenovo has announced its latest slim gaming laptop, the Legion Slim 7. The machine features up to AMD Ryzen 7 5000 series APUs and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs in a chassis that tapers to 15.9 mm. The Legion Slim 7 has a 15.6-inch display, available in either a 1080p and 165 Hz variant or a 4K one that tops out at 60 Hz and 500 nits. The Legion Slim 7 starts at 1.9 kg and will come in two colours.

Lenovo's flagship gaming laptop of 2021 is here, and it packs a 16-inch QHD display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The Legion 7 16ACH-06 also includes the latest AMD Ryzen 9 5000 series APUs, NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 30 GPUs and more I/O than you could shake a stick at.

The new Legion 5 Pro features a new display, CPUs and GPUs. The gaming laptop now offers a 16:10 and 16-inch IPS display with a native QHD resolution, a 165 Hz refresh rate and 3 ms response times. Additionally, AMD Ryzen 5000 APUs and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs now power the Legion 5 Pro, which will be available from March for €1,399 and up.

The GK3V is a Gemini Lake Refresh-based mini-PC with a built-in VGA output. The device also has two HDMI ports, 8 GB of RAM and four USB ports. There is even space for a 2.5-inch drive, which supplements the device's built-in storage.

Update | Lenovo does not just updates their high-end ThinkPads of the X1 series: The new ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 is the biggest redesigns of the series since 2017. Together with the convertible sister ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6, the new X1 Carbon uses screens in the 16:10 aspect-ratio for the first time. And that is not the only change.

In the year 2021, Lenovo expands its high-end series ThinkPad X1 with another model. The new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga is thinner than all other ThinkPads and at the same time the first 3:2 ThinkPad. It also is one of the few laptops to utilize Titanium metal as a chassis material.

After a long drought in terms of Windows tablets, Lenovo introduces a new competitor to the Microsoft Surface Pro for business customers. The new Lenovo ThinkPad X12 Detachable contains the newest Tiger Lake CPUs and has a Thunderbolt 4 port.

The successor to the Surface Pro 7 is here, but it is not the Surface Pro 8. Instead, Microsoft has called its latest convertible the Surface Pro 7 Plus, and has only made it available to business customers and educational institutions. The Surface Pro 7 Plus contains plenty of upgrades over the Surface Pro 7 too, albeit in the same ageing chassis.

Asus uses the most current technology in the ZenBook 14: A Tiger Lake processor, GeForce MX450 graphics core, 16 GB of working memory (quad-channel mode), and Thunderbolt 4. A 63-Wh battery ensures a good battery life.

It is no secret that the Surface Pro 8 will be another minor revision on the Surface Pro series' dated design. Microsoft will update its famous 2-in-1s to Intel's Tiger Lake platform, while retaining the chassis from previous Surface Pro generations. The Surface Pro 8 will start at US$899.99 for the Core i3 model too, but that price does not include a keyboard. Microsoft will charge nearly US$3,000 for the privilege of 32 GB of RAM, too.

HP asserts that its new Elite-series earbuds are an enterprise-grade way of introducing wireless audio into your professional online conferencing set-up. They are rated for both passive and active noise cancellation (PNC and ANC), streamlined device-switching and fast case charging via USB type C.

Lenovo has made an ambitious leap into the business end of AR glasses with the new ThinkReality A3s. Their lenses are 1080p displays for their potential mixed-reality (MR) or heads-up display content. They also have dual RGB cameras to orient this view, and come in smartphone- or laptop-tethered USB type C variants.

LG has delivered a few Gram-related surprises ahead of CES 2021. Not only will the company unveil new 14, 16 and 17-inch laptops next week, but it will unveil convertible 14 and 16-inch models. LG's new Gram lineup will all feature 16:10 displays and Intel Tiger Lake-U processors.

The Aorus 15P WB brings all modern computer games smoothly onto the screen (Full HD, IPS, 144 Hz). In addition, there's an NVMe SSD, 16 GB of RAM (dual-channel mode), and very good battery life.

Lenovo has improved the CPU performance of the current ThinkPad X1 Extreme, but the Intel CPU is still inferior to AMD's current processors. The X1 Extreme Gen3 is a very good multimedia laptop and we especially like the excellent keyboard, but there is still room for improvements for upcoming iterations.

Dell has unveiled the next step in its unique solution to a key problem of all-in-one PCs: upgradeability. The new Dell OptiPlex 7090 Ultra is an iteration on 2019's OptiPlex7070 ultra, a tiny flat desktop designed to fit into a monitor stand. The new OptiPlex 7090 Ultra brings 11th Gen Intel CPUs, Intel's Iris Xe Graphics, and more to the form factor.

Dell's new business mid-rangers have a brand new design as well as Intel Tiger Lake. There are many changes happening for the new Dell Latitude 5320, Latitude 5420 and Latitude 5520. One is especially interesting: Dell is getting rid of its equivalent to the ThinkPad TrackPoint.

With a release date that still has to be disclosed, the Dell Optimizer software solution promises to deliver a wide range of improvements and optimizations. Dell describes this piece of code as a built-in AI solution that "learns and adapts to the way you work" and is the first of its kind.

The Precision 3560 is new for 2021, and with Intel's Tiger Lake-U platform. The 15-inch mobile workstation features a new design from last year's model with a larger trackpad and a new keyboard. However, the dedicated mouse buttons have gone, and the pointing stick appears to have been omitted too.

A Microsoft job listing for the Windows Core User Experiences team seems to indicate the upcoming Windows 10 21H1 Sun Valley update will see a totally overhauled user interface including new icons, a revamped File Explorer, and more. Current Insider Builds are also showing some visual changes in the Settings app, which includes new battery usage graphs, camera settings, app archival, and more.

The Steam hardware and software survey for December 2020 has thrown up a surprising result in regard to processor usage. According to the currently published data table, Intel has snatched over 2% of the Windows share back from AMD. However, that’s nothing compared to the huge change in the color chart that shows AMD losing over 7% share in one month.

Microsoft equips the second generation of its compact convertible with a slightly bigger screen and an optional LTE modem. The performance of the passively cooled device is sufficient for everyday tasks, but modern ARM tablets are more powerful and offer longer battery runtimes.

An interesting 16-core Alder Lake processor from Intel has been spotted on Geekbench revealing some of its secrets, including the fact that it can utilize 24 threads and has a surprisingly low base clock. However, the Alder Lake-S part is clearly an engineering sample, as its maximum clock was recorded at a desktop-melting 17.6 GHz.
