Fujitsu LifeBook U7311: The classic notebook
Fujitsu is the only laptop maker which still offers certain types of ports. Most Fujitsu laptops do well in our reviews and the LifeBook U7311 is no exception.
Our review model features the Tiger Lake-based Core i5-1135G7, 16 GB of dual-channel RAM and a 512 GB SSD.
The LifeBook U7311 performs about as well as the rest of the competition. However, the battery life is not particularly solid. The battery lasted more than 8 hours in our Wi-Fi test. Howbeit, competing devices offer even longer battery runtimes.
The IPS touchscreen can only be described as average. Its only standout feature is the matte screen surface which allows the display to be legible even outdoors.
Maintenance hatch and replaceable battery
The LifeBook U7311 comes with a robust selection of ports. The Fujitsu laptop offers not only two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a Gigabit Ethernet port but also a VGA port. There is also an SD card reader, which, unfortunately, offers very slow data transfer speeds.
Currently, Fujitsu is the only manufacturer which offers a laptop with a battery that can be removed without a screwdriver. The Fujitsu laptop also features a docking port and a maintenance hatch, which allows users to easily access the RAM, SSD and the Wi-Fi module.
When it comes to the LifeBook U7311, we have two major points of criticism: battery life and performance. When the Fujitsu notebook is taxed heavily, it starts to throttle.
