MeLE has started selling a new mini-PC, following on from the MeLE Quieter 2 that it launched in April. MeLE has taken the chassis from the Quieter 2 and re-used it with the Quieter 2D, albeit with a more powerful processor.
Specifically, the Quieter 2D measures 131 x 81 x 18.3 mm and weighs 203 g. Consequently, the device has one of the smallest form factors for a mini-PC with a reasonable amount of ports. MeLE has included four USB 3.0 Type-A ports, two HDMI 2.0 ports, an Ethernet connection and a microSD card slot.
The MeLE Quieter 2D also has an M.2 2280 slot that supports up to 4 TB NVMe drives and 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. Unfortunately, these and the Intel Celeron N4020 are cooled by a plastic heatsink. MeLE claims that the Quieter 2D operates silently, but FanlessTech asserts that the device has a fake heatsink, instead.
The MeLE Quieter 2D is available on Amazon from US$179.00 with Windows 10 Professional installed. Currently, MeLE is offering a US$15 coupon for both models, which are only separated by 64 GB and 128 GB of storage.
