PlayStation has finally announced the State of Play event for August but it might not be exactly what PS5 fans were hoping for. The DualShock 4 will work on the PlayStation 5 but only under certain conditions. More price placeholders have appeared and a tenuous source claims hardware revisions and SOCOM revival.

A device calling itself the "motorola moto e(7) plus" has appeared on Geekbench 4. Therefore, a direct replacement for the unprepossessing Moto E6 Plus may be on the way. This new putative phone has 4GB of RAM and runs on a possibly unknown Snapdragon processor.

Samsung is expected to launch a fitness tracker alongside a number of other products at its impending Galaxy Unpacked event. A new leak appears to set its status as a second-gen Galaxy Fit series in stone. It may be the first reported listing for the device that uses a corresponding product name.

Rumour has it that HMD Global is planning to launch three new smartphones in September. Specifically, the company is alleged to be unveiling the Nokia 2.4, Nokia 6.3 and Nokia 7.3 at IFA 2020, which will be hosted in Berlin between September 3 and 5.

While both posts agree that the upcoming PlayStation event will feature Silent Hill and some more information about Spider-Man: Miles Morales, they differ on the date. One also claims that PlayStation 5 backwards compatibility details will also be shared.

The ability to jump straight from the PlayStation 5’s UI into instant gameplay has apparently been given a name: Activities. The function, which was previously mentioned by Mark Cerny in an interview with Wired last year, was described in further detail in a presentation for the future PS5 game WRC 9.

A report states that Micromax is working on three new smartphones for the Indian market. The devices will be unveiled sometime in September and will come with MediaTek chips. Prices will range between INR 7,000 (US$93) and INR 15,000 (US$200).

The smartphone OEM Nubia has announced a new launch event for devices to be sold under its 'gaming' brand Red Magic. They include the rumored overclockable phone the 5S. However, they also apparently include less typical debuts for a Wi-Fi 6 router and a portable fan with inbuilt retro gaming.
