Microsoft has already announced many details about the upcoming Xbox Series X, including its controller. The Xbox Series X controller is an evolution of the one that Microsoft developed for the Xbox One, which built on the controller that the company sold for the Xbox 360. One of the most obvious changes that Microsoft has made for the Series X controller is the inclusion of a share button, situated beneath the Change View and Menu buttons.
Now, what looks like a white version of the Xbox Series X controller has been posted to the r/xbox subreddit. According to Tom Warren of The Verge, the picture was posted by an account called u/Wolfy_Wizzardo. The person behind the account reportedly took a photo of the controller at a "party in Washington state hosted by the child of a Microsoft employee". Warren notes that the user had been "posting about topics in Seattle, Washington for months" before posting the picture.
The notion of a white version of the Xbox Series X controller should be expected. Microsoft sells the Xbox One controller in countless colours, including white versions that it bundled with the Xbox One S and Xbox One All Digital Edition. However, Microsoft tends to release colour-matching consoles and controllers, which ties to another comment made by u/Wolfy_Wizzardo. Supposedly, they also got the chance to play on the console to which the controller was paired, which "looked more squarish and the Xbox button looked bigger on it".
Warren opines that a white model could be a special edition of the Series X, but u/Wolfy_Wizzardo's description of the console makes it sound like the rumoured Xbox Series S. Microsoft is yet to officially comment on the release of such a console, which is allegedly codenamed Lockhart. We would still recommend exercising some caution in trusting in this rumour, especially with the absence of a picture of the "squarish" console.
