PS5 size comparison: PlayStation 5 towers over the Xbox Series X and even looks down on the king-sized PS3
Plenty of PS5 fans have been debating the potential size of the next-gen console, especially since both the official hardware reveal and the recent leak of what is widely believed to be a genuine production model of the PlayStation 5. A recent attempt by LetsGoDigital utilizing renders created by Snoreyn has offered up what could be the likely dimensions of the hardware.
The source concludes that the PS5 will measure about 14.9 in x 12.2 in x 3.9 in (38 cm x 31 cm x 10 cm), which makes the console considerably taller than its main rival, the Xbox Series X. The latter console from Microsoft measures in at 11.85 in x 5.9 in x 5.9 in (30.1 cm x 15.1 cm x 15.1 cm), making it shorter and considerably more compact than the PS5.
The latest estimate fits in with many other recent guesses at the PS5 size; and comparisons with other consoles, based on disc drive size and USB ports, can be seen in the images below. A height of 15 in/38 cm appears to be the most popular prediction, especially when compared to the king-sized PS3 that hits a height of 12.8 in/32.5 cm. LetsGoDigital opines that the PS5 without its support stand might be 14.1 in/36 cm tall.
