PS5 pre-order preparation: List of retailers from dozens of countries that should offer PlayStation 5 console pre-orders when Sony gives the green light

Sony has yet to announce the official PS5 console price and pre-order information. However, the Blu-ray version of the next-gen console is widely rumored to end up costing in the region of US$499/£449/€499 while the more affordable Digital Edition is expected to be priced at around US$399/£349/€399 – give or take a few dollars, pounds, or Euros. It’s more than likely there will be something of a mad worldwide scramble among enthusiastic gamers to secure a PS5 console pre-order when the time comes, especially as it has already been reported that there will be a likelihood of a limited initial production run for the PS5.

The PS5 console has some incredible specs and components to boast of, including an 8-core AMD Zen 2 processor that manages variable clock rates of up to 3.5 GHz beating as its heart. Graphics are processed by a custom AMD GPU (up to 2.23 GHz variable frequency) that utilizes RDNA 2 technology along with 36 CUs to offer a compute performance of up to 10.28 TFLOPs. There's 16 GB GDDR6 RAM onboard (448 GB/s bandwidth) and of course, there's that famous ultrafast custom 825 GB SSD that can deliver an incredible I/O throughput of 5.5 GB/s (raw data) to 8-9 GB/s (compressed data). There's also support for HDMI 2.1, 4K video output, and 8K video output, and the PS5 is capable of reaching 60 fps rates during intense gaming sessions too.

It's an absolute beast of a video game console.

Most of the retailers listed below currently have either an information page, landing page, “pre-pre-order” page, or similar for the PS5 (links were functional and accurate at the time of writing). Many offer the opportunity to sign up for notifications, which will be useful if you want to be first in the queue when Sony finally gives the green light for PS5 pre-orders.
