The entry-level model in the Sony Bravia A9 Master series is now orderable. Called the Bravia KD-48A9, the 48-inch TV has a 4K OLED panel and supports HDR content. The Bravia KD-48A9 runs Android TV and supports X-Motion Clarity for OLED for optimum image quality when gaming or watching sports.

Sony announced the Bravia A9 Master series earlier this year, which initially came in 55-inch, 65-inch and 77-inch sizes. Now, the 48-inch model is available to pre-order in Europe for £1,799.00 in the UK and €1,899 in most of the Eurozone. Sony will charge €2,149 for the same model in Ireland, for some reason. The Bravia KD-48A9 (2020), also called the KD48A9BU, will begin shipping in the UK from August 24 and August 3 in the Eurozone.

The Bravia KD-48A9 is a 4K OLED TV that Sony has based around its Picture Processor X1 Ultimate. The TV supports the company's Pixel Contrast Booster and Acoustic Surface Audio, along with X-Motion Clarity for OLED. Sony promises that the latter can refine "action on the screen in real-time to make it brighter, clearer and more fluid than ever before", which should play nicely with fast-paced content like gaming and sports. While the Bravia KD-48A9 is expensive, its large 4K OLED panel and X-Motion Clarity support could make it an ideal companion for the upcoming PlayStation 5.

The Bravia KD-48A9 runs Android TV and is compatible with Dolby software like Atmos and Vision HDR. Sony has included four HDMI ports and three USB ports, along with single Digital Audio, Composite and Ethernet connections. According to Sony, the speakers in the Bravia KD4A9 can output at up to 25 W, while the TV can consume up to 114 W when on. The Bravia KD-48A9 has a 178° viewing angle and comes with a stand on which to place it. The TV also supports VESA mounting.
