The Asus ROG Strix G16 is able to extract a lot of performance from its strong hardware. An Intel Core i9 and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 ensure high FPS on a 240 Hz panel in many games. But things get really interesting when it comes to the volume.

With a Ryzen 9, RTX 4070, and 240-Hz panel, all the basics are in place for a gaming laptop. Our test shows that the hardware also keeps its promises. At the same time, the overall package might be too lopsided for some interested buyers.

Great power comes with great fan noise, apparently. The GPD Win 4 crams a laptop-class Ryzen 7 6800U CPU in a form factor that's twice as small. As a result, the internal fan has to work overtime to keep the processor under control.

The wide performance gap between mobile and desktop GeForce 40 is a strong case for reintroducing the "M" suffix to Nvidia's lineup of mobile GeForce RTX GPUs. The current naming convention of the GPUs could certainly be improved to better reflect their performance differences.
