With the new Asus NUC 15 Pro+ the manufacturer presents a particularly powerful mini PC aimed specifically at professional users, creative professionals, and demanding power users. Now that Asus has officially taken over the NUC series from Intel, this model marks an important step in continuing the popular series and, at the same time, further developing it technologically. Inside works the Intel Core Ultra 9 285Ha modern high-end processor with integrated AI acceleration and efficient chiplet design. Equipped with fast DDR5 memory support and PCIe 4.0 SSDs, the compact computer has all the prerequisites for intensive workloads. Asus combines this with a wide range of connections, including two Thunderbolt 4 ports, several USB ports, and 2.5 Gbit LAN. This clearly positions the mini PC as a fully fledged desktop alternative - despite the small chassis format.
The NUC 15 Pro+ will also be particularly exciting for users who use external GPUs. Our current review indicates that the mini PC can easily work with powerful graphics cards such as an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, making it a flexible system for gaming, graphic design, or AI-supported applications. Asus also takes a practical approach to maintenance: the SSD and RAM can be replaced quickly thanks to easy access. However, the manufacturer is not without criticism when it comes to the cooling system - the mini PC is clearly audible under sustained load, even though the fan control in the BIOS offers extensive setting options.
Nevertheless, Asus makes a clear statement with the NUC 15 Pro+. The combination of compact design, high computing power, and strong modularity shows that mini PCs are no longer just suitable for simple office tasks. Our detailed test clarifies how well the NUC performs in everyday use, where its strengths lie, and what compromises you should be aware of.
