Where Winds Meet Mobile has been tested on the iPhone 17 Pro Max, RedMagic 11 Pro, and Apple’s M5-powered iPad Pro in a recent performance comparison by YouTube channel Dame Tech. While all three devices aim for 60 FPS, the test reveals notable differences in optimisation, resolution handling, and gameplay stability across iOS, Android, and iPadOS.

Where Winds Meet Mobile is one of the most demanding PC-origin games to make its way to mobile platforms so far, pushing modern flagship silicon with large open-world environments, real-time combat, and visually dense boss encounters. In a recent performance test by YouTube channel Dame Tech, the game was benchmarked on three high-end devices: the Apple Phone 17 Pro Max, the Nubida RedMagic 11 Pro, and the Apple M5-powered iPad Pro, all running with graphics settings maxed out.

The comparison focuses on sustained performance, frame-rate stability, and real-world gameplay scenarios including open-world exploration, combat sequences, and boss fights. While all three devices target 60 FPS, the test highlights meaningful differences in optimisation, resolution handling, and overall visual fidelity between iOS, Android, and iPadOS implementations of Where Winds Meet Mobile.

iOS vs Android gaming performance in Where Winds Meet Mobile

According to Dame Tech’s testing, both the iPhone 17 Pro Max and the RedMagic 11 Pro are able to maintain an average of 60 FPS for most gameplay scenarios in Where Winds Meet Mobile. However, frame-time consistency differs noticeably between the two smartphones. The iPhone 17 Pro Max records 1% low frame rates of around 57 FPS, indicating a stable performance profile, while the RedMagic 11 Pro drops as low as 48 FPS during action scenes, most visibly during boss fights.

On-screen metrics further suggest that the iPhone benefits from tighter frame pacing, with frame intervals staying close to the ideal 16.7 ms target for 60 FPS gameplay, helping reduce perceptible micro-stutter during fast camera movement and combat animations. While the iPhone’s internal resolution is explicitly shown at 2868 × 1320, the Android version on the RedMagic 11 Pro does not display an equivalent readout. However, the YouTuber specifically mentions that the game is running at a higher resolution on the iPhone 17 Pro Max compared to the RedMagic 11 Pro.

The iPhone runs the game using roughly 2.15 GB of memory with over 4 GB still available, while the RedMagic 11 Pro shows 65–74% RAM utilisation during comparable scenes.

Why the M5 iPad Pro delivers the best Where Winds Meet Mobile experience

The performance overlay on the M5 iPad Pro shows the game running at 2420 × 1668, with the visual advantage being mainly due to the iPad’s larger display. At the same time, GPU frame times stay at around 17.5 ms, which is close to what’s needed for smooth 60 FPS gameplay.

Memory utilisation also appears to be around 2.25 GB, with nearly 15 GB of system memory available. Unlike the smartphones, the iPad Pro maintains this level of performance while rendering denser environmental detail, including higher-quality foliage and reflections on water surfaces.

Taken together, these metrics reinforce that the M5 iPad Pro is not merely matching smartphone performance on a larger screen, but delivering a distinctly higher-tier experience by combining higher resolution and improved graphics. We also recently reported on Red Dead Redemption performance across different Apple devices, where both the M4 and M5 iPad Pro emerged on top in terms of graphics quality and gameplay performance, delivering nearly identical results. While Dame Tech has not tested Where Winds Meet on the M4 iPad Pro, it is reasonable to assume that the game would offer similar performance on that device compared to the M5 iPad Pro.
