Valve has announced that its successful hand-held console is to become available in select Asian markets. The company will release the Steam Deck through the same distributor in Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. The device can be ordered in multiple storage variants from mid-December 2022.

Released alongside the Ryzen 5 5500 in early April this year, the Ryzen 5 5600 had a launch price of US$199. The Amazon list price has the same value right now, but the ongoing 41% discount brings it down to a wallet-friendly US$118. Two processor & motherboard bundles are also available for around US$320.

Lenovo’s Product Specifications Reference site mentions quite a few 14-inch and 15-inch IdeaPad 1 SKUs that feature either an AMD Athlon Silver 7120U / Athlon Gold 7220U dual-core processor or a Ryzen 3 7320U / Ryzen 5 7520U quad-core APU. The Athlon models are limited to 8 GB of soldered LPDDR5-5500 RAM and 128 GB PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD storage, while the Ryzen ones can get up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB storage.

The popular YouTuber Kyle Hansen (Bitwit) has posted a new video showing how he managed to build a respectable gaming PC on a lower budget than the MSRP for Nvidia’s unloved GeForce RTX 4080. The rig features an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X as CPU and Radeon RX 6800 XT as GPU, and there was even enough in the budget for 32 GB of RAM.

AMD is allegedly preparing non-X variants of its Zen 4 Ryzen 9 7900X, Ryzen 7 7700X, and Ryzen 5 7600X CPUs. The SKUs which include the Ryzen 9 7900, the Ryzen 7 7700, and the Ryzen 5 7600 are rumored to debut next year, at considerably cheaper prices than their X-series counterparts.

Ryzen 7000 processors have seemingly had their prices cut to make the Zen 4-based chips a more attractive purchase ahead of the financially crucial holiday season. The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X has led the price-cut charge, with it currently being offered for under US$600 in the United States, at around €650 in some European retailers, and for close to £600 for UK buyers.

Bundled with the Wraith Stealth cooler, the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X unlocked desktop processor was released in early November 2020 with a US$299 price tag. Now, Amazon has this piece of hardware available for US$190, which represents a 39 percent discount on the current list price of US$309.

This unlocked AM4 chip is now down by 48 percent on Amazon, a generous discount that brings the list price of US$359 down to US$186.30.

Best Buy is selling an Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop with a Ryzen 7 CPU, an Nvidia RTX 3060, and a Full HD display with a 144 Hz refresh rate for US$500 off. The Zephyrus is currently listed at $899.99.

The AMD Ryzen 5 7600 processor has made an appearance on the SiSoftware Sandra benchmark. The upcoming Zen 4 chip revealed its basic specifications and produced a couple of initial results that aren’t too distant from the Ryzen 5 7600X. There is some hope that the Ryzen 5 7600 could be priced at an affordable level.

Although some might consider the lack of a bundled cooler a severe drawback, the 43 percent discount applied to the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X on Amazon should appease them. AMD has cut prices on its Zen 3-based Ryzen 5000 series CPUs on its US store. The new rates have made the processors even better deals than before. For instance, after a US$120 reduction, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is now going for US$329.

According to Q3 2022 financial figures released by AMD, the company’s Data Center, Gaming, and Embedded Systems segments performed well. But the Client segment which includes consumer CPUs like the Ryzen 6000 series took a significant hit due to a weak PC market. Can't decide between the Ryzen 7 6800H or Ryzen 9 6900HX? Do yourself and your wallet a favor by just going with the Ryzen 7 6800H because the Ryzen 9 6900HX may as well just be the same processor.

One of the first Ryzen 7000 laptops has been accidentally leaked by Asus. Its Turkish-language website revealed the specifications for a refreshed Zenbook 14 that included one of AMD’s new Ryzen 7000 mobile chips. However, those hoping for a Zen 4/RDNA 3 combination powerhouse will have to keep waiting.

AMD India recently hosted a performance deep-dive session for the press, enthusiasts, and content creators showing off the new Ryzen 7000 platform and its performance gains in gaming and content creation. New Blender benchmark results of the Intel Raptor Lake and AMD Zen 4 processors have surfaced, allowing us to pit Team Blue and Team Red against each other. The comparison proves quite well for the Intel Raptor Lake chips as they cost less than their AMD counterparts.

While most processors on the market are faster when disabling security tweaks/patches for certain bugs such as Spectre or Meltdown, it was recently discovered that the AMD Ryzen 7000 family does better when the Spectre V2 mitigations are enabled in the Linux kernel. The tests were first ran on the Ryzen 9 7950X, and then on the Ryzen 5 7600X.

Thanks to the latest 1.07.09A01 BIOS version with AGESA 1.2.0.7 update, the XMG Apex 15 MAX can now be equipped with a desktop-grade Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor that is faster than top-of-the-line models like the R9 5950X or Intel's Core i9-12900K in most games.

Recently spotted in the Einstein @Home database, the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 "Storm Peak" processor is a 5 nm chip based on the Zen 4 architecture. Its OPN code suggests this is the first entry of a Zen 4-based Ryzen Threadripper 7000, most likely one of the mid-range models, with 64 cores and 128 threads.
