CES 2023 | Lenovo introduces IdeaPad Slim 5 14 / 16 thin and light laptops with AMD Ryzen 7000U processors

Lenovo’s 2023 IdeaPad Slim 5 lineup packs the latest AMD Ryzen 7000 U-series processors along with screen options featuring IPS and OLED panels, all in a thin and light chassis that still offers military-grade ruggedness. Available in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, the new  Slim 5 models also include extended security features plus an AI Engine Smart Power function that optimizes battery life and adjusts performance dynamically.

The processor options include Ryzen 7 7730U, Ryzen 5 7530U and Ryzen 3 7330U models that integrate Zen 3 cores with RX Vega graphics. These can be coupled with either 8 or 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, as well as up to 1 TB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage.

On the display side, the 14-inch model offers an OLED option plus two IPS ones, while the 16-inch variant offers only two IPS options. The 14-inch OLED stands out with 400 nits brightness, 1920 x 1200 resolution, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and 60 Hz refresh rate. There is also a 2240 x 1400 IPS panel with 60 Hz refresh rate, 300 nit brightness and 100%sRGB color gamut plus a 1920 x 1200 IPS panel with 45% NTSC color gamut. For the 16-inch size, Lenovo includes a 1920 x 1200 IPS with 300 nit brightness, 60 Hz refresh rate and 45% NTSC color gamut, and a 2560 x 1600 IPS with 350 nit brightness and 100% sRGB color gamut. All displays come with TÜV low blue light and SGS Eye Care display certifications.

Other features include:

• Depending on options, the 16-inch model can weigh up to 4.39 lbs, while the 14-inch tops out at 3.51 lbs

Lenovo will ship the new AMD-powered IdeaPad Slim 5 laptops in May 2023 with prices starting at €799 for both sizes.
