Talking icon. Acer's Iconia Talk S is a 7-inch tablet/phablet that is capable of making phone calls. Its dual-SIM function and LTE module ensure a good connection on-the-go. An energy-efficient quad-core Snapdragon SoC, a bright HD-IPS display, and Android 4.4 complete the package. Acer enters the battle for buyers at a recommended retail price of 229 Euros (~$245).

Get the Honor. The young Honor brand of the Chinese manufacturer Huawei adds a new member, which offers a great price-to-performance ratio. A 5-inch HD display, quad-core SoC and dual-SIM functionality – all for 140 Euros (~$149).

Globetrotter. OnePlus offers a great smartphone with a fantastic performance-price ratio in its firstling. A fast SoC, a high-resolution screen, plenty of storage, and high-speed LTE speak for themselves. However, the manufacturer did not manage to fulfill all the expectations that the technical specifications promise.

Price-cutting HD. New smartphones for below 150 Euros (~$163) are no longer inevitably found in scrap corners. Honor presents a 5-inch handset with an HD IPS screen that would also fit well in the mid-range. The fact that it is only powered by an entry-level SoC with little RAM barely had an impact in routine use.
