Turning big into small. Already the name makes its obvious: The Z1 Compact is the handier version of Sony's Xperia Z1 flagship. These "Mini" editions are presently quite common, but the Z1 is an exception because most of the hardware is the same as used in the larger version.

More displays. The Yotaphone has been in the headlines for a while now, because it has one unique feature. Turn the smartphone around and you can see a second display, a so-called E-Ink display. Our review shows how the Russian company "Yota Devices" solved this design challenge.

Triple champion? Tablets with a keyboard dock are an old hat? Notebooks are prehistoric? Android tablets are cheap slowpokes? Asus combines these three categories, and the result is not outdated, archaic or boring.

XL-smartphone for a small price. The LG D605 Optimus L9 II impresses with its 4.7-inch HD display and combines two very appealing things: A lot of performance for a comparatively low price. We tested it.

While both the bright 8-inch IPS display and the unusual shape make for great eye-catchers, we will have to see whether the MediaTek MT8389 SoC with 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage space suffice to remain competitive in the price segment below 300 Euros (~$412).
