The HTC A9 Hero may include 4 GB RAM and a MediaTek Helio X20 SoC.

HTC has been public about its intent to launch yet another flagship smartphone before the end of the year alongside the existing HTC One M9. The new smartphone would counteract HTC's declining smartphone sales and give it the boost it needs during the Holiday season. Details on the device, however, have been well under wraps.

A supposed photo leak claims to show the new HTC smartphone alongside an Apple iPhone 6. Called the HTC A9 (Hero), the image shows Boom Sound speakers on the front and an overall design that is strikingly similar to the iPhone. Unfortunately, image quality is poor and it is next to impossible to perceive any other important details about the front or rear of the device.

Rumors are claiming a 5.2-inch 2560 x 1440 resolution display, 4 GB RAM, a 10-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor, and a 3500 mAh battery pack. The exact dimensions and weight of the device are unknown as the alleged leak provides no further details.

There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
