HTC halts One M9+ sales in the Netherlands
HTC has yet to determine what the underlying problem is that appears to be affecting 4G LTE reception for users in the Netherlands.
Whether or not the LTE issues are caused by hardware or software remain unclear. Of course, a software issue could be more manageable by simply releasing an update to resolve the problem, while a hardware issue could lead to costly recalls of faulty units.
The HTC One M9+ has only been available for less than a month in the Netherlands and will launch in Germany within the next couple of weeks. Core specifications include:
- Display: 5.2-inch 2560 x 1440 resolution
- CPU: MediaTek MT6795 SoC
- RAM: 3 GB
- Storage: 32 GB eMMC w/ MicroSD support
- Cameras: Rear 20 MP, Front 4 MP UltraPixel

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
